Mercedes

Mercedes Jaime-Sisó (PhD) is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of English and German Studies of the University of Zaragoza, where she has been teaching Scientific English and Academic Writing at the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences since 1988. In the last two decades, she has also been involved in international relations management as Director of International Mobility and Vice-rector for International Relations in her institution. She has been a member of the LICOM (Languages for International Communication) Board of the European Association for International Education and organized and participated in numerous international conferences related to internationalization of Higher Education. She permanently collaborates with different European Quality Assessment Agencies and was recently appointed as member of the Erasmus Mundus Board by the European Commission.

Her current research interests focus on the evolution of the structure of scientific research articles and the application of new technologies in language learning for academic and professional purposes. Her other research interests include cross-cultural communication and specialized terminology. She is currently involved in creating a bilingual (English-Spanish) dictionary of Veterinary terms.
